Camino Las Dunas - 4 Days

This Camino is a 3 night and 3 1/2 day event, and you will start out from amazing Málaga centre. If you have been to Málaga before year 2000, you will encounter a totally transformed city and today stands out with lots of restaurants and attractions in the nicely renovated centre and creates a perfect starting point for your Camino, whether you are planning to spend a night or two either before or after your Camino, it is absolutely recommendable. The Camino Las Dunas takes you on day 1 in total 18 km. from the pulsating life in Malaga city centre, along the coast through the quiet Málaga bird reserve via the beautiful wooden bridge, La Pasarela to the eastern beachfront of Torremolinos, with space and lots of nice modern cafés and lunch options. The last kilometers of the day is spend passing the western parts of Torremolinos, called Carihuela where the fishermen used to live in Torremolinos, and then entering the amazing Puerto Marina, located just next to your first accommodation, Hotel Alay**** in Benalmádena, a very pleasant place to stay and you will have all amenities on hand.

Day 2 will take you 18,5 km. to the beautiful and easy walkable paseo, strolling along the beach, then becoming dramatic cliffs, and then again ends out in the cozy flat paseo of Fuengirola full of cafés and lunch options before coming around the majestic Castillo Sohail, the old maurer fortress located just next to your second accommodation, Costa del Sol Glamping Village, in Fuengirola. Here you will sleep in a Glamping tent with all amenities, toilet, shower, A/C etc. installed, but you do feel closer to nature here.

On day 3 we have chosen to guide you in total just under 19 km. through the hills of Chaparral and away from the coast, this will give you a pleasant 6 kilometer journey of silence before entering the welcoming village of La Cala de Mijas with lots of cafés and lunch options. The last part of the days walk is spend on the fantastic wooden board walk along the Mediterranean Sea to Calahonda where your last accommodation is waiting, the cozy and very friendly Norwegian Sailors Church. You will stay in a 500 years old building with extreme thick walls, no TV in your room and most employees are volunteers. What you get here is a warm welcome, and as they say here "We always will have warm coffee and waffles when you arrive in the afternoon". 

Your last day is only 4,5 kilometers, but taking you to the amazing and protected Dunas de Cabopino, just next to the cozy Puerto de Cabopino with restaurants and cafés, and is where you will be picked up and transported back to Malaga. At the Dunas de Cabopino we recommend you to do at least the 1 km. tour.

On this Camino you will walk less than 20 km./day with only smaller hills and on firm ground, so it is a Camino with the difficult level: Easy.
